Whether in the office or working from home, there are lots of ways to raise money for Demelza.

Get your colleagues, and wider teams involved - we have plenty of ideas for you! Thanks to technology you can always find ways to bring people who are in the office together with those working from home, creating hybrid events that make everyone feel included and raise money for charity.

Make Demelza your charity partner

Why not nominate Demelza as your business charity of the year? Everything you raise can be donated to Demelza. Set yourself a target and see what you can do. We can provide resources, collection tins, and fundraising support to help you help us.

Interested in becoming a corporate partner? We're on hand to help.

Pay for a Day

Did you know that you can Pay for a Day of care at one of our hospices? On your chosen date a framed certificate will be hung in our reception area for everyone to see. Afterwards, this will be sent on to you to treasure forever.

We want to show you how much we appreciate your donation and as such we would love for you to have a tour of your chosen hospice so we can show you exactly where your donation is going (COVID-19 restrictions permitting - at present, we are not offering tours).

Virtual challenges

Challenge your colleagues to walk a marathon in a month, or hike the equivalent of a mountain by climbing your stairs. You can share photos of where you’re walking, running or climbing, and keep a tally. You might even do a marathon in your garden. First one to hit the goal, wins! And of course, ask for sponsorship to keep you motivated.

Dress up

Rather than dress down Friday, have a dress up Wednesday! Come to work in your finest suit or fanciest dress and really look swanky! You can donate for the thrill of doing so. This works just as well in the office and at home. If you’re working remotely it can really jazz up your Zoom or Teams calls.

A sweepstake ticket.

Do a sweepstake

Sweepstakes are a great way to involve the whole organisation, wherever they are based. Whether it’s sporting events such as Wimbledon or the World Cup, the annual Eurovision Song Contest, or even television programmes such as Strictly Come Dancing or The Great British Bake Off, you can take your luck in a draw and hope you win.

A picnic basket.

Shake up your lunch

How about hosting an office picnic? Rather than going to the same sandwich shop, everyone in the team can bring in picnic food and donate their lunch money. Tasty! If you’re working from home you can each cook a fancy lunch and spend the time speaking to each other, rather than over your laptop.

Online class

Chances are the people in your organisations have many hidden talents. Maybe someone teaches yoga, or is a whizz on the guitar. Encourage people to run lunchtime learning classes, where maybe someone leads a fitness session or teaches something creative, and people donate to attend. This can be a great way to keep teams engaged with each other when working remotely.

A pub quiz - wherever you are

Who doesn’t love a quiz? Set some challenging questions, get the drinks and nibbles in, and pit your wits against each other. Charge per team, and have raffles and silly rounds for extra donations. We’ve seen online quizzes really come into their own over lockdown, and this works just as well with teams who are geographically dispersed.
