Everything you can expect to see as part of #TeamDemelza.
When you join #TeamDemelza you become part of an organisation committed to the wellbeing and development of everyone who works for us. We offer a supportive environment, opportunities for career development and personal growth, the potential for flexible working, competitive salaries and generous holiday.
Here are all the benefits and rewards you’ll receive when you join #TeamDemelza
We want our hospices, offices and shops to be healthy workplaces, and employee wellbeing is central to this. Our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offers a range of online benefits and services, a 24/7 emotional support helpline and telephone counselling service.
If you are a member of the NHS pension scheme and have contributed in the last 12 months, you have the opportunity to remain in the scheme during your employment with Demelza. There are also options to join another pension scheme if you are not a member of the NHS pension scheme.
If you are not a member of the NHS Pension Scheme you will be automatically enrolled to the Demelza Pension scheme, following your first three months in post. We’ll match up to 7% with employer contributions and this account can be accessed online.
If you need to review your working pattern, let’s talk. At Demelza we will consider all requests in line with our Flexible Working Procedure.
Our people, including line managers and registered nurses, can embark on our fantastic leadership development programme.
At Demelza we are committed to the ongoing learning, continuing personal and professional development and training of all our people.
Care roles can include unsocial hours, and our pay enhancements reflect this.
Our people can enjoy a minimum of 28 days annual leave entitlement a year, which increases with length of service.
Put your skills to good use by volunteering for another department at Demelza or an external good cause for the day.
A death in service benefit of x3 an annual salary is available for non NHS pension members, from the first day of employment.
Work life balance is important to Demelza and we strive for our policies to reflect this.
Our people can have peace of mind, that whilst they recover, they will receive occupational sick pay.
We encourage our people to take unpaid regular breaks throughout the day with a complementary hot beverage if they wish.
Meet with people from other teams at Demelza’s social events throughout the year. Be part of our emerging social committee to help support social events for the whole of #TeamDemelza.
Immerse yourself into a colleague’s role for the day and experience their workplace, tasks and duties. Work in their shoes creates opportunities to get to know other areas of the organisation and the fantastic people that make up #TeamDemelza.
Make savings on the purchase of a new bike through the government salary sacrifice scheme. Tech schemes are also available.
Claim a free eye test, and a £49 contribution to glasses if needed for visual display unit (VDU) use, every two years.
Our people can park for free at Demelza’s sites in Sittingbourne, Kent and St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.
An informal social opportunity to share skills with colleagues over lunch and learn something new.
Express your views and let your voice be heard with Demelza’s staff voice email.
