Thousands of people take part in Bubble Rush
Thousands of people enjoyed sunshine, bubbles and a busy event village at Demelza’s biggest annual fundraiser.
Bubble Rush took place at Mote Park in Maidstone yesterday (Sunday) and saw more than 2,500 people take part.
After a warm-up with Boogie Tots Maidstone and samba band Bloco Fogo, participants took off from the start line in three waves, making their way through four bubble stations on the colour-packed course – yellow, pink, green and blue.
Those taking part in the fully accessible course had the chance to loop the 2.5km twice and then enjoy a range of entertainment, food and drink in the event village.
Sunday also saw the launch of Demelza’s summer match funding appeal, meaning every donation made on the day will go even further.
Thanks to the generosity of The Freddie Green and Family Foundation, every pound donated will be matched, until September 13.
Demelza’s Head of Events and Mass Participation, Kat Cordrey, said: “There was a fantastic atmosphere at Bubble Rush this year and we’re so grateful to everyone who took part.
“It was great to see so many dads, grandads, uncles and other father figures enjoying the Father’s Day fun.
“It’s always a really fun event and it was exciting to launch our summer match funding appeal there; we’d like to thank everyone who donated as their support will go even further.
“These events raise vital funds for Demelza to continue providing expert clinical care, emotional support and practical help to children with serious or life-limiting conditions, and their families.”
