Demelza opens its doors for annual Family Fun Day
Families are invited to join Demelza for its annual open day and help the hospice continue to provide expert clinical care to children with serious or life-limiting conditions.
Like many children’s hospices across the country, Demelza is operating in an increasingly challenging financial environment. At our open day, we’ll be highlighting the fantastic work we do and showing our amazing communities why it’s so important they continue supporting us.
Demelza’s Family Fun Day will take place at the site in Rook Lane in Bobbing on Sunday 13 September from 10am to 2pm.
The free event has a packed programme of family activities, live entertainment and food stalls, as well as the chance to have a tour of the hospice and see its wonderful facilities.
Visitors will have the chance to speak to our nurses about the specialist care they provide, meet some of our bereavement team and learn about volunteering opportunities at Demelza.
There will be inflatables, games including hoop-a-duck, a football shootout and splat the rat, crafts and glitter tattoos, creative art sessions, live entertainment from SFM Radio, DJ Sonny, Dreams Academy and plenty of refreshments on offer.
Demelza’s Deputy CEO, Hayley Richardson, said: “We hold an open day at our Sittingbourne site every year and this year we are really hoping to reach new supporters alongside our amazing existing communities.
“Along with many children’s hospices around the country, Demelza is facing significant financial challenges and we need our fantastic communities now more than ever.
“Our Family Fun Day is a wonderful opportunity for people to visit the hospice, meet our teams, have a fantastic day out and see first-hand the incredible difference your support makes to the children and families who rely on Demelza.”
