Supporters walk 10 miles across London to raise funds for Demelza

Miles in May 2026

Corporate supporters have taken part in Demelza's annual Miles in May fundraiser during Mental Health Awareness Week.

The event took place in London yesterday (Thursday) and saw 100 people make their way either from the iconic Leadenhall Building to Demelza’s hospice in Eltham or do the route in reverse.

The 10-mile route took participants past landmarks including Canary Wharf and Tower Bridge before crossing the River Thames at the Greenwich Tunnel.

Once they reached the hospice in Wensley Close, everyone was treated to a glass of fizz and a slice of cake to toast their success.

They were then invited into the hospice afterwards and enjoyed time chatting to staff.

The companies whose employees took part were Anthony Gold, RBC, Berkley, MSIG, Vanquis, Comparison Tech, BNP, AIM Cleaning and GPF Lewis.

Demelza Corporate Account Manager, Patrick High, said: “Miles in May is a fun challenge which is perfect for people to take on with their colleagues and we’re delighted it was such a successful event.

“This event was held during Mental Health Awareness Week as we know that taking time outside and exercising has a positive impact on mental health.

“We’d like to thank everyone who took part – there was a great atmosphere along the route and even the wet weather didn’t dampen their spirits.

“They have helped raise vital funds which will make a huge difference to children with serious or life-limiting conditions and their families.”
