Remembering the late Des Crampton
Everyone at Demelza is deeply saddened by the death of Des Crampton, Vice President and a much-valued member of our charity.
Des has been instrumental throughout his time with Demelza. He joined us in 2001 as a trustee, at a critical point in our development, bringing with him wisdom, commitment and a deep belief in the importance of high-quality care for children with serious or life-limiting conditions and their families across Kent, South East London and East Sussex.
He later served as Chair of the Board of Trustees, before becoming one of Demelza’s valued Vice Presidents in 2012.
One of Des’s proudest moments during his many years supporting Demelza was the opening of our hospice at Eltham. He had fond memories of seeing the project through to fruition and of the difference it would make for children and families in South East London.
Demelza’s CEO, Lavinia Jarrett, said: “Des gave so much to Demelza over more than two decades and his contribution has had a lasting impact on the charity we are today. He cared deeply about creating the right services for the children and families we support.
