At Demelza, supporting children, young people and their families is at the heart of what we do, but we need a range of skills and experience to achieve this. 

Staff in varied roles from nursing to administration, from maintenance to retail – and many other roles between - are ensuring that we make a difference for those we care for, helping them to build precious memories. We recruit people with the skills and attributes needed for their individual role and provide ongoing learning and development opportunities.

A range of roles

We currently employ more than 300 full and part time staff in a variety of roles, covering care, nursing, retail, office support staff - and more. Our sites

As well as being rewarding places to work, offering the best care for children and young people with serious or terminal conditions, our sites are great places to work. The Kent hospice, with its iconic coast, is surrounded by beautiful countryside, the South East London hospice has easy access to everything the capital has to offer, and Demelza East Sussex is just a stone’s throw from the sea. Whether you are based in our care settings, offices or at one of our fantastic shops , each place has its own character and ambience.

A safe environment


As a children’s hospice charity, we have a duty of care to ensure our people share Demelza’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All job offers are therefore subject to the satisfactory receipt of references, new employee screening checks, verification of any professional qualifications and DBS clearance, relevant for their role.

All staff and volunteers are required to undertake regular safeguarding training relevant to their role.

COVID-19 safety
