MP visits Demelza’s Eltham hospice

Peter Fortune MP visited Demelza's Eltham site

Staff at Demelza’s Eltham hospice were delighted to welcome Peter Fortune MP in for a visit.

The MP for Bromley and Biggin Hill visited the site in South East London on Friday.

He met with Demelza’s CEO Lavinia Jarret and Clinical Lead Nurse Megan Watkins and enjoyed a tour of the hospice.

He also spent time with some of the nurses and children before catching up with the team over tea and cake to discuss how he can add his support to the vital work we do for families in his constituency.

Peter spoke with Lavinia about funding, the incredible support Demelza gets from its communities, which provide 84% of the funds needed to make our work possible, and how the charity is working with local integrated care boards.

Lavinia said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Peter in for a tour of our Eltham hospice – I was proud to show him the incredible facilities we have.

“We are very grateful to have Peter’s support and we appreciate his time in coming to our site and finding out more about the expert clinical care, emotional support and practical help we provide to children and families in his constituency.”
