Demelza’s e-commerce team sell a diverse range of donated items across eBay, Vinted and their website shop to raise vital funds.

The open afternoon will take place at the charity’s new distribution centre on Sheldon Way in Larkfield on Thursday 24 April from 2pm. It will be a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about sustainable shopping and supporting a worthy cause to learn more about the flexible and varied retail volunteering roles available at Demelza.

Volunteers play a crucial role in Demelza’s e-commerce operation, engaging in varied tasks such as listing valuable jewellery, selling vintage finds and helping to package and post people’s newfound treasures. The role, which is based at the distribution centre, can be worked flexibly throughout the week, making it ideal for those with varying schedules. Comprehensive training and ongoing support are provided, making it an excellent opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends.

Volunteering with Demelza is a rewarding experience that allows you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of thousands of children and their families. By supporting their e-commerce operations, you will help raise vital funds to provide expert care and support to those who need it most.

Demelza’s Senior E-commerce Manager, Alex Bruce, said: “No two days in the E-commerce Team are the same, so if you enjoy a little bit of fun and mystery, this could be the team for you. Whilst the day-to-day routine and overall objective remain the same, to list items and raise money, you never know exactly what treasures you’ll find when you open a box of donated goods.

“We like to play to people’s strengths, so if there is a special passion or interest you have, we will try to find you these types of items to list. There’s a real sense of satisfaction watching your items sell. You’ll learn how to price, research and list items, pick up new skills, make new friends, and become part of a team which values you.”
