Spring programme for bereaved families

This spring at Demelza, we’re offering a range of inclusive events and activities designed with care for families at every stage of their journey. Whether you're looking for quiet reflection or shared moments of joy, we hope you’ll find something meaningful to get involved in.

What to expect

  • Family events – events for the whole family group, to come together, meet other families, have fun and make memories.

  • Siblings activities – activities for siblings aged between five and 17 to develop peer networks, increase confidence and have fun!

  • Parent / carer wellbeing – a variety of events and activities to bring parents / carers together for dedicated time just for them, to relax, recharge or get creative.

  • Engagement opportunities – opportunities for different members of the family to engage with Demelza, helping us improve our services so we can best support you.

Snowdrop 2026 and keepsake

Our spring remembrance event

This gathering offers the chance to reflect, reminisce and connect with others who understand. Music and readings will form part of the event and provide space to remember your loved ones. Families are welcome to take part in memory crafting and plant spring flowers in the garden. You may also request a keepsake if you wish.

  • Kent: Saturday 7 March, 10am–12pm / 1pm–3pm 
  • SEL: Sunday 8 March, 11am–1pm

Spring sibling activity days

Build on peer support

A flexible opportunity for young people to take part in fun nature themed activities (outside, weather permitting) and get to know one another.

  • East Sussex: Wednesday 27 May, 11am–3pm
  • South East London: Thursday 28 May, 11am–3pm
  • Kent: Friday 29 May, 11am–3pm

Spring terrapy social

Make your own tiny world to take home

We have kindly been donated the opportunity for a limited number of Terrapy sessions. Connect with other families who understand over some light refreshment and learn about terrariums. These sessions are specifically for bereaved family members aged 16 years and over. 

  • South East London: Saturday 9 May, 10:30am–1pm
  • Kent: Sunday 10 May, 10:30am–1pm

Parent / carer wellbeing

A chance for parent / carers to create and craft together

An opportunity to meet other Demelza families and colleagues over  creative, mindful activities along with refreshments.

  • East Sussex: Tuesday 5 May, 10am–1pm
  • Kent: Thursday 7 May, 10am–1pm
  • South East London: Friday 8 May, 10am–1pm

Engagement opportunity

The engagement team are hosting brunches for dads and male carers and mums and female carers this spring

Parents / carers are invited to come together, enjoy brunch in a casual setting and meet others in their local area.

Please note, next season brunches will take place in alternative locations.

  • Dads and male carers brunch at Kent: Saturday 7 February
  • Mums and female carers brunch at South East London: Saturday 28 February
