Demelza's Winter Wonderland Ball

Laura Hamilton, presenter of Channel 4’s ‘A Place in the Sun' and former Dancing on Ice finalist, hosted our fantastic Winter Wonderland Ball on Friday 19 November at the beautiful Underglobe, beneath Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London.

Fundraising targets were smashed as the more than generous guests bid on an array of auction items, raising over £100,000 to support children with serious or terminal conditions and their families through the festive period and into 2022.

The audience was visibly moved listening to Demelza parent, Sam, talk about the support she receives from Demelza, for her daughter Lucy, 12. The evening also saw the screening of the Demelza choir’s beautiful rendition of Andrea and Matteo Bocelli’s “Fall on Me”, featuring children, siblings, parents, volunteers and staff – there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! And having our fantastic soloists, Sam and Nurse Tanya, there for the evening made the screening even more special!

Entertainment came in the form of spectacular stilt walkers, aerial artists and a disco. And the food was divine – huge shout-out to Diccon Wright and his team at the Swan, as well as our headline sponsor, Wolseley - we could not have pulled this off without your support!

There is still time to donate to our #FestiveWishes appeal. Please go to our Christmas Appeal page to see “Fall on Me” and to donate – thank you.
