We understand that access, parking and facilities can sometimes make taking your child out challenging. This is why we have created a booking process for some of our fully accessible facilities, for you to enjoy as a family.

Since the hydro pool opened at Demelza Kent in Sittingbourne in 2012, it has been a popular facility for families.
The changing areas are quiet and warm and there is access to appropriate moving and handling equipment, such as overhead hoist ceiling tracking and shower trollies.
You don’t need to be staying at the Demelza in order to use the pool as our popular Sunday sessions enable you to come and book a slot. Sessions can be relaxing or loud and fun, with a jacuzzi, lights and music available if you wish.
Water safety is paramount, so a life guard is on duty for all sessions and floats, life vests, arm bands and rings are available to use.
“Olivia was just 17 months old when she was diagnosed with a massive, inoperable brain tumour which caused her to lose her vision. She has been on treatment ever since and is currently undergoing gruelling weekly chemotherapy.
Olivia relies on her sense of touch to experience her surroundings and this has proved impossible since the start of the pandemic. She also has a reduced immune system which puts her at risk of catching viruses and other nasties.
The hydro pool at Demelza is an amazing sensory activity for Olivia to enjoy with her mummy, daddy and little sister. When we visited for the first time Olivia did not stop talking about it afterwards. She loved every second. It means so much to families like ours who are so limited in the experiences that are available to us.”
