We know that losing a loved one is hard. And you want their life to live on.

Donating in memory is a beautiful way to celebrate the life of someone you love. You will be honouring their life at the same time as helping the lives of children and families.

You might choose to ask for donations at a funeral in lieu of flowers. This is a personal way of supporting our work and remembering a loved one. We can provide donation envelopes that can be used at the service to collect donations.

Or you could fundraise in memory, a fitting tribute to someone you love. You can easily set up a fundraising in memory page (below), where you can share treasured memories and photos of your loved one, so that people can see who you are remembering at the same time as finding out how their donations are helping Demelza.

For every in memory donation we receive, we will send a packet of our forget-me-not seeds to say thank you for supporting us while you remember someone special.

We can help you create a lasting and important tribute, that will have an impact on the lives of children and families for as long as they have. Your memories will help children and families make their own memories.

In memory of Anne

June donated to Demelza in memory of her dear sister, Anne (pictured).

June heard about Demelza when we first opened, as she worked locally in Sittingbourne.  A little later on, Anne came to work with June in Sittingbourne on a temporary basis. June had previously volunteered helping children with special needs which she enjoyed. She then heard even more about Demelza and the vital care they provide children with serious or terminal conditions and their loved ones.

The sisters visited Demelza during one of our open days and were overwhelmed with the facilities, the care the children received and the support given to the family. June says: “Demelza was a very special place to us because sadly Anne lost her son Richard in the seventies and the family are sure that if Demelza had been around then, it would have made such a sad time in their lives a little more bearable."

When Anne sadly passed away, June thought it would be fitting to donate to Demelza in her memory.

Leave a Dedication message in memory of a loved one

We understand that some people may want a simpler way to remember a loved one than creating their own tribute. So you can leave a dedication message instead. This is a special, shared place to share messages, remember loved ones, and share memories and messages of support.
