There are lots of ways that you can fundraise for Demelza at home.

You can try something virtual or in person, and have lots of fun as you raise vital funds for us. Keep an eye our for our annual spring fundraiser, which in the past has included everything from readathons to quizzes.

Ideas for fundraising at home

Facebook birthday fundraiser

If you have a birthday coming up, you can set up a Facebook fundraiser and nominate Demelza as your chosen charity for your family and friends to donate – celebrate your birthday and raise funds for a worthy cause at the same time. Just log in to Facebook, select ‘Fundraisers’ from the menu, create a fundraiser, and choose Demelza as your charity. It can be great fun watching the total go up.

Host a dinner party

Pretend your home is a restaurant and charge people to come to yours for dinner. Cook something delicious, ask people to dress up in their fanciest clothes (and even pick up something new from a Demelza charity shop!) and donate the cost of dinner to Demelza. You can do this virtually as well. And the benefit by doing it via video is that everyone gets to cook exactly what they want! You’ll spend a fun evening with family and friends, eat a delicious meal, and raise funds to support our vital work.

Have a virtual games night

Team up with friends and family all around the world and have a virtual games night. Make it pay to play and encourage people to channel their most competitive streak. There are lots of online game platforms, including digital versions of traditional favourites such as Monopoly, Scrabble and Uno.

Take on a physical challenge

Raise funds for Demelza and get fit doing so. Why not take on a challenge such as walk a mile a day, skip for 10 minutes a day, or do 25 push ups a day, all over the course of a month. Ask people for sponsorship, and see how much you can raise. Share your photos on social media using the hashtag #TeamDemelza.

Do a dare

Ask your friends to nominate you for a challenge or dare, and get them to sponsor you if you take it on. This could be anything from being silent all day to eating something crazy. Make sure you take photos of what you’re doing!

I'm A Celebrity... GET ME OUT OF HERE! Sweepstake.

With I'm A Celebrity... GET ME OUT OF HERE! back on our screens we can’t wait to find out who will be crowned King or Queen of the Castle!

Why not grab your friends and family and organise your own I’m A Celeb sweepstake! Charge £5 per celebrity and once the King or Queen is crowned, the winner collects half the donations as their prize and we ask that you donate the other half to Demelza.

You can download our I’m A Celeb Sweepstake templates from the resources section on our fundraise for us page.

We're sure you have loads of brilliant ideas too.

You can visit our main fundraising page for more ideas, our fundraising pack, and details on how to get involved. Full of inspiration, our resources are here to make your charity fundraising and support as easy as possible, so you can get on with having fun and raising money for Demelza.
