Our brand-new family event is fun for all ages. Walk, jog or run your way around the exciting obstacle course in the beautiful Dunorlan Park and #UnleashTheWarriorWithin.

Your Little Warriors will love battling their way through the obstacles, which include a ball pit and a slip & slide, before collecting their medal at the finish line! Each area will have an accessible option for wheelchair or pushchair users too!

Inclusive activity zones

Each zone will feature an accessible option for wheelchair and pushchair users.

Hydro zone: Slip ‘n’ slide your way down a 40m slide on your belly and dodge through the trees in the woodland while volunteers try to get you with their water pistols. 

Lucky dip: Wade through the trough of water, retrieve a musical instrument, give it a shake and drop it into the bucket. There is also an accessible option at this obstacle. 

Demelza art board: Cover your hands in paint and help us create a masterpiece on our art wall.  

Sensory zone: Wade through the giant pit filled with thousands of coloured balls for a complete visual and tactile sensory experience. There is also an accessible option at this obstacle.  

Memory zone: It is time to stop and pose at this zone for our professional photographer with some props. Plus, you get to leave the event with a permanent memory of the fun you’ve had as a family.

Meet Oakley, your Little Warrior Captain!

Oakley, who was diagnosed at two years old with Angelman syndrome; a complex genetic disorder that primarily affects his nervous system, will be joined by dad, Jason, and will be among the first to take on the 5km obstacle course this June!

Fundraising ideas for kids

Are you keen to get your little ones involved in fundraising for Demelza? Then there's no simpler way than joining us in Dunorlan Park, 12 June!

All funds raised from this event go towards helping Demelza continue to provide specialist care and emotional support for children with serious or terminal conditions and their loved ones across Kent, South East London and East Sussex.

Whilst there is no official minimum fundraising target, by signing up for this event, you are agreeing to try and raise just £20.00 per person.

Little Warrior FAQs

There is no official fundraising target for this event, but we ask each participating adult to raise at least £20.00. By doing what you can, you'll help Demelza to continue to provide specialist care and emotional support for children with serious or terminal conditions and their loved ones.

If everyone taking part raises just £20 we will raise an incredible £20,000 in fundraising alone!

When fundraising, we would advise that you set up a JustGiving page. It is the most effective way for you to fundraise! If you have any questions about this, please get in touch at eventbookings@demelza.org.uk.

 

The difference you could make by fundraising for Demelza.

£50 could pay for a cast of a child’s hand or foot for a family to treasure forever. 

£100 could pay for a support group of a child with a serious or terminal condition or a member of their family. 

£200 could cover the average cost of a family going through the referral process to access vital care and support from Demelza.

£840 could cover the cost of a child or young person’s overnight stay at one of our children’s hospices.

Event packs including wristbands and t-shirts will arrive with you approximately 10 days before the event. If you have not received your pack by Monday 6 June , please email eventbookings@demelza.org.uk with your booking name and address and we will look into this for you.

T-shirt sizes are ordered based on what was entered upon booking. We will do our best to accommodate t-shirt size changes however this cannot be guaranteed. To enquire about changing your t-shirt size, please email the Events Team on eventbookings@demelza.org.uk

Your wave is on the letter that comes with your event pack, each wave has a different coloured wristband. The wave times and colours are:

  • Wave 1 at 10am: RED
  • Wave 2 at 11am: BLUE

We cannot make any changes to wave times; each wave has a maximum capacity which cannot be exceeded due to Health and Safety. If you would like to enquire about being put on a waiting list to move waves. Please email the Events Team on eventbookings@demelza.org.uk
