Escape the hustle and bustle and join us on Friday 1 July at Lambeth Palace Gardens, an inner-city sanctuary rarely open to the public.

Founded in 1197 the tranquil private gardens span over 10 acres and are one of the oldest gardens in England. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by Lambeth Palace volunteers and given a complimentary tour, followed by the option to enjoy lawn games, picnic-style nibbles and refreshments, an opportunity to try a yoga session with Deva Yoga and a plant swap stall: bring along your spare plants and swap for another!

A special thank you to Lambeth Palace for opening their historic gardens to Demelza.

Through the generosity of the National Garden Scheme, Lambeth Palace invites select charities to host open garden events for the public throughout the year.

We are very grateful and excited to be able to offer the unique opportunity for you to enjoy the oasis on the edge of the city.

Escape the hustle and bustle of London

Escape on your lunch break or make a day of it. You'll find the tranquil Lambeth Palace Gardens just a short walk from Lambeth North, Newington, Elephant & Castle and St James Park stations.

It has been occupied by Archbishops of Canterbury since its creation. Caroline, wife of Archbishop Justin Welby says of their garden “There is something magical for all of us who live at Lambeth Palace about knowing we are in Central London with the traffic roaring past outside and yet being able to sit or walk in an oasis of calm and beauty just over the wall."

Your £5 donation will help families enjoy their time together, for as long as they have.

Making memories is a core service at Demelza and we recognise the importance of creating positive and enduring memories for families.

£5 could help fund canvasses and paint for hands and footprints as part of memory-making. Or, it could help us make memory boxes for children who are nearing the end of their life.

Be the reason we can keep providing our vital services.
