Burst through a rainbow of bubbles in this sudsy spectacle, where our bubble stations will create a pathway full of colourful foam. Every course is family friendly, so you can run, jog, walk, dance or toddle through the route – it’s friendly for pushchairs and wheelchairs too.

We have been working hard on our plans for Bubble Rush – closely following the government’s COVID-19 roadmap – and are pleased to say that we are able to go ahead with the event this summer! This means you can still help support children with serious or terminal conditions, along with their families. For more details about the event, please see the Event FAQs below.

Event FAQs

Due to COVID-19 restrictions still being in place, we do need to make a few changes. Unfortunately, we cannot hold both events at Mote Park and Avery Hill Park on their original dates due to park capacity and logistics of the event. So, we have made the difficult decision to merge the events into one.

The Bubble Rush will now take place on Saturday 28 August at Mote Park, Maidstone.

All money raised will still go directly towards providing specialist care and emotional support for children with serious or terminal conditions and their families, across Kent, East Sussex and South East London.

For 2021, we would love to make the bubbles bigger and better, but we need your help! There is no official fundraising target for this event, but we ask each participating adult to raise at least £15.00. By doing what you can, you'll help Demelza to continue to provide specialist care and emotional support for children with serious or terminal conditions and their loved ones.

When fundraising, we would advise that you set up a JustGiving page. It is the most effective way for you to fundraise! If you have any questions about this, please get in touch at bubblerush@demelza.org.uk.

The difference you could make by fundraising for Demelza.

£50 could pay for a cast of a child’s hand or foot for a family to treasure forever.

£100 could pay for a support group of a child with a serious or terminal condition or a member of their family.

£200 could cover the average cost of a family going through the referral process to access vital care and support from Demelza.

£840 could cover the cost of a child or young person’s overnight stay at one of our children’s hospices.

Event packs including wristbands and t-shirts will arrive with you approximately 10 days before the event. If you have not received your pack by Monday 23 August, please email bubblerush@demelza.org.uk with your booking name and address and we will look into this for you.

T-shirt sizes were ordered based on what was entered upon booking. We will do our best to accommodate t-shirt size changes however this cannot be guaranteed. To enquire about changing your t-shirt size, please email the Events Team on bubblerush@demelza.org.uk

Your wave is on the letter that comes with your event pack, each wave has a different coloured wristband. The wave times and colours are:

  • Wave 1 at 10am: RED
  • Wave 2 at 11.30am: BLUE
  • Wave 3 at 1pm: GREEN
  • Wave 4 at 2.30pm: YELLOW

We cannot make any changes to wave times; each wave has a maximum capacity which cannot be exceeded due to Health and Safety. If you would like to enquire about being put on a waiting list to move waves. Please email the Events Team on bubblerush@demelza.org.uk

We can certainly update your address on our system, however we cannot change the address that your pack is being sent to. We recommend you use a re-direct or contact the residents at the old address. Please email bubblerush@demelza.org.uk with your booking name and address if you do not receive your pack by Monday 23 August and we will look into this for you.

We ask that everyone taking part in the Bubble Rush tries to raise just £15. If everyone taking part raises just £15 we will raise an incredible £60,000 in fundraising alone! The quickest way to get started is by setting up a JustGiving page by clicking here.

No, all changes of clothes, picnics and larger items should be kept in participants’ cars in the event car park which is manned and only a short distance away from the event. Personal belongings such as phones and wallets should be kept on person.

The course itself is only 2.5km long but participants will go around it twice (if they want to just do one lap that is fine)

Due to COVID-19 and limiting any risk of cross-contamination, you will need to bring your own water to the event. Our food and drink vendors will have beverages available to purchase.

Dogs are allowed in Mote Park but dogs cannot take part in the Bubble Rush and must be kept on a lead at all times. For the safety of all bubblers we cannot allow any animals on the course and for hygiene reasons they must not go into the foam.

This event is proudly supported by Stagecoach

Stagecoach logo

We are excited to welcome Stagecoach to the Bubble Rush Mote Park as the gold sponsor of the Bubble Rush at Mote Park. The Stagecoach Managing Director, Joel Mitchell, has said;

"What impresses me most about Bubble Rush is that anyone can join in the fun. It's not the usual kind of charity fun run - it's a party for all the family! We're immensely proud to be sponsors and we've got a great team of Stagecoach Bubble Rushers ready to raise as much as they can for Demelza - and I'm hoping to take part myself!"

The Keith and Susan Rawlings Charitable Trust have supported Demelza for many years and are kindly making a donation towards the Bubble Rush again for 2021.
