Demelza Italian Job -Terms and Conditions

1. General

These booking terms and conditions apply to everyone who takes part in this event for Demelza, and those who attend as spectators.

These terms and conditions contain important information regarding participation, and upon entry you agree to and accept these terms and conditions.

All participants taking part in this event do so at their own risk. In no event shall Demelza Hospice Care for Children be liable for any injuries, loss or damages whatsoever, including indirect, punitive, special, incidental or consequential losses connected with any aspect of this event.

Before registering for this Demelza event, you should be medically fit to participate, please seek medical advice if appropriate. You are required to inform the event organisers of any relevant medical conditions in the lead up to the event that might affect your performance during this event.

Photographs will be taken of participants throughout the event which will be used on promotional materials. It is the participant’s responsibility to let staff know at registration if you do not want to appear in any such materials.

Your safety is of paramount importance. Please ensure that you follow all safety instructions and training procedures when participating in events.

Demelza will use the email address that you have supplied, to send you information about this event and also events that Demelza may organise in the future. 2. Booking process, prices and payment

For this challenge, we require a registration fee of £100 (non-refundable or transferable).

Sponsorship option:
you must also undertake to reach a minimum target of £1650.00 for Demelza.  A minimum amount of £750.00 must be received by Demelza ten weeks prior to the date of the event (26th June 2019) and the remaining sponsorship by the 4th September 2019.

Self-Funding Option:
you must pay your balance payment of £750.00 by the 26th June 2019 and the minimum fundraising of £900.00 must be received by the 4th September 2019. 

If you are unable to meet these sponsorship requirements, you may forfeit your place on the event – or you may choose to pay the balance yourself.

Should you, for whatever reason, not take up your place, all sponsorship forms and sponsorship monies collected should be forwarded to Demelza or returned to the sponsors.

All funds raised for this event must be made payable to Demelza.

3. Safety

You must be at least 16 years old before the departure date of the event.

Your booking will not be confirmed by Demelza Hospice Care for Children until we acknowledge receipt of your medical form.  Receipt of registration payment is not considered to be confirmation of your booking.

For an overseas challenge, you are required to take out a personal insurance cover for health, accident and loss. You will also be required to book your own flights. 

All participants take part in the events at their own risk.

The charity’s medical advisor and our third party operator (Chapeau Events) may need to consult the applicant about any medical issues or concerns. The charity and our third party operator (Chapeau Events) reserves the right to refuse an application if the applicant is unsuitable .In these circumstances the registration fee will be refunded in full.

I understand that the contract in respect of the challenge above is with Chapeau Events. Demelza Hospice Care for Children acts as agent for Chapeau Events and accepts no responsibility, in its own capacity, in connection with the arrangements for, and conduct of the trip, including travel, accommodation and medical issues.

The charity cannot take responsibility for the consequences of delays, strikes, war, sickness, quarantine, government action or other “force majeure” circumstances.

4. Clothing

Due to the nature of the event please do consider your choice in clothing. It is the participant’s responsibility to come suitably dressed for the event. The event organisers take no responsibility for clothing.

Cycling events- Demelza Hospice care for children reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who is not wearing a suitable cycling helmet. 

5. Changes to the event

Demelza Hospice Care for Children reserves the right to alter the start time of the event at any time.

6. Cancellation

Demelza Hospice Care for Children reserves the right to cancel this event at any time. In the event of this happening, entry fees and sponsorship will be refunded in full. 

7. Data protection

The information you provide at registration will be shared only with that organisation, it will not be shared with any other organisation.
