BRAND NEW FOR 2017!
Our Therapy Team are providing a new and exciting workshop for you to take part in and have some fun while learning about a different and very important part of the work here at Demelza.

Music & Art Workshop

This workshop will include performances of two songs written specifically for Demelza Hospice Care for Children, It’s about Life and the Butterfly Song.  There will also be an array of accessible percussion instruments available to play alongside the Music Therapist and Therapist Facilitator in a free group improvisation and also a directed improvisation. You do not need to be musical to come to the workshop. Victoria (music therapist) will talk about the therapy services available at Demelza and what music therapy brings to the children and young people that access the services here.

The art workshop will include a short presentation of art images that the children and young people have made.  There will be art materials available such as pens, pencils, stickers and paints to create your own group art piece. The Artist in Residence will also have mandalas available to create images on, which you will be able to take home. Jane (Therapy Services Manager) will talk about the therapy services available at Demelza and what art  therapy brings to the children and young people that access the services here.

When booking please only select the number of people taking part in the workshop. Parents are welcome to accompany their children but not take part themselves however spaces are limited to 10 per session so please do not include yourself in the booking if not taking part on the day.
