We have our very own Demelza shop online! We’re all used to shopping online these days, so we've made it easy for you to support us from the comfort of your home. View our range of new and bought in goods right here.

What can I donate to Demelza's charity shops?

A volunteer wearing a hi-vis jacket is sorting through bags of donations.
Every shop is different, from what they look like to where they are and what they sell - and so is what you can donate. We appreciate your donations and your support but unfortunately we can’t sell everything, and it can cost us money to dispose of things that our charity shops cannot use. We know that you want to help us and make it as smooth as possible. That’s why we have created a list of what you can and can’t donate at our shops, and how to do it.

We do not collect donations from houses, apart from prearranged furniture collections.

Please be aware that we do not currently distribute or collect charity bags door-to-door. If you do receive a charity bag claiming to be from Demelza Hospice Care for Children, please let us know by emailing in the first instance.

Further information on charity clothing collections can be found on the Fundraising Regulator website.

We are able to offer collection and delivery (subject to driver availability and location) on furniture and bulky items and would request that a doorstep service is in place where possible. These must be prearranged in advance. Our drivers will be maintaining current, recommended Covid-19 guidelines.

Please ensure that you let us know if you or a member of your household has COVID symptoms or a positive test result so that we can rearrange or accommodate this safely.

If you are interested in our collection or delivery service please visit our furniture collection page for more information, or email to arrange.

Demelza’s Retail Team have been working hard to make sure that our branches and operations will be as safe as they can be. We are following government advice and guidelines, and have risk assessments in place in every location to ensure the safety of both customers and our teams. All retail branches will have sanitiser stations on entry, which we would encourage customers to use.

The wearing of face coverings is no longer mandatory, however, we ask customers to consider wearing one, if able to, while visiting our shops so we are able to continue protecting our teams and visitors. We will be encouraging our shop teams to do the same if they are able to.

We are now accepting donations at all open shop locations. You can check our full list of items we are able to accept, and these we are unable to accept here.

You can help us further by considering whether they are in a good, clean condition and in working order before bringing them in. If you're wanting to donate furniture or bulkier items, please take a look at our Furniture collection page, or alternatively you can email at

There may be occasions where our shops are unable to accept donations due to capacity, waste costs and safety but you can find alternative Demelza locations to donate to.

Please don't forget to Gift Aid your donation if you can, to help make your donation go further!

Our donation shed at Demelza Kent is open for donations. We ask that during drop-off you do not enter the reception area, this is a necessary safety measure to reduce traffic to the hospice building, which keeps the risk of infection to children, families and staff to an absolute minimum.

You can email queries to or call our mainline on 01795 503110. Alternatively, we have lots of information on our website about how, what and when you can donate to us which is worth checking first.

For furniture donation queries, please email or contact our Maidstone Outlet or Rainham furniture shop directly.
