It is with some sadness that we announce Ryan Campbell, CEO, has resigned from his post and will be leaving Demelza Hospice Care for Children on 28 May 2021. The Trustees would like to take this opportunity to thank Ryan for the enormous contribution he has made over the last six years.

Over this time, we have achieved so many wonderful things, but at the heart of it we truly appreciate the visible leadership that Ryan has provided that has helped to keep our children, young people and families at the centre of our decision making with expanding, high-quality services; a wide and successful portfolio of income streams; and which has ensured Demelza has collaborated and networked to influence children’s palliative care more broadly.

David Highton, Chair of the Board of Trustees said: “Ryan has personally invested time in ensuring he considers the perspectives of staff and volunteers across the organisation and has greatly impacted the positive culture that is so evident at Demelza. Ryan will leave Demelza in excellent shape to allow us to mould our strategic direction to best meet the future needs of the children, young people and families.

“I am pleased to advise that Lavinia Jarrett, Deputy Chief Executive, has agreed to take on the role of Acting Chief Executive during the transitional period until a new permanent appointment can be made later this year.”

Ryan has been appointed as the new Chief Executive at The Treloar Trust, a prestigious charity which runs a residential school, residential college and other support for physically disabled students, based in Alton in Hampshire. We would like to take the opportunity to thank Ryan for everything he has done and wish him the best of luck in his next role.
