This May we’re challenging our phenomenal fundraisers to take on 37 miles to help fund a specialist Demelza nurse. We aim to raise £37,000 to fund a specialist Children’s Nurse and our participants are already off to a flying start, having raised over £15,000 within the first two week of May.

And that brings us to introduce possibly one of our youngest participants; Noah. Noah will be turning four this month and already has over twelve miles under his belt and has raised over £450 as he takes on his very first charity challenge.

Noah’s mum Alex, is already a fully-fledged member of #TeamDemelza, working within our Trusts and Project Development team and explains, “Noah’s dad and I are aware we’re very lucky that he’s very healthy and active, so I want him to use that energy and turn it into raising money for an amazing cause! I think it’s really important that he grows up knowing what he can do to help others.

I’ve been trying to explain to him what he’ll be doing and that where mummy works helps poorly children. But I think he’s more excited about the thought of going to the seaside for a walk, or taking a walk to his great nana’s house, where he always gets sweeties!”.

Like many almost-four-year-olds, it won’t surprise you to hear that Noah doesn’t stop moving! Noah’s mum and dad will of course be supporting him all the way; clocking up miles by taking longer walks home from nursery, fun trips to the seaside and strolls in the beautiful Devon countryside. Plus, a birthday visit to Diggerland is also on the cards!

Alex tells us, “Noah’s had such amazing support from all our friends and family; and we’re so grateful for all the donations we’re received so far. People realise it’s going to be a big challenge and they are being so supportive.

We will most certainly be celebrating when he hits his 37th mile! I’m sure he will be rewarded with a new mini Hot Wheels car (which are his absolute favourite at the moment, along with diggers!)”.

If Noah has inspired you to put your best foot forward and take on 37 miles in aid of our Miles in May challenge, that it’s not too late to get moving. Simply click here to sign up today and walk, run or scoot your way to 37 miles to help fund a specialist Demelza nurse.
