Easter Eggstravaganza Event Important Information

We are looking forward to welcoming families to the Easter Extravaganza Event at the Kent hospice on Monday 18th April 2022.

We have included some important information for your event below. However, if you require any further information ahead of the event, please email familysupportdepartment@demelza.org.uk.

Limits to numbers in attendance

As numbers are limited at each event please only bring the number of guests stated in your event confirmation with you, if need to discuss your family group with us prior to the event please email familysupportdepartment@demelza.org.uk.


Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the event start time to sign in and verbally agree to COVID-19 declarations, have your temperature taken etc. Unfortunately, we are unable to host families earlier/later than the specified event times due to current COVID-19 restrictions and limits to the number of attendees at each event.

The event will be held at the Kent Hospice, Demelza House, Rook Lane, Sittingbourne ME9 8DZ.

Car parking will be available for families and will be situated close by the hospice buildings. Please park in the carpark in front of the main hospice building.

Simple refreshments will be available for families during the event (tea, coffee, squash, crepes, cakes etc. Please provide allergy/dietary requirements in your RSVP or in advance of your visit.

There will not be childcare available at the event, parent/carers present have full responsibility for any children present.

All rooms and spaces used for the event will all be accessible for wheelchair users.

If you need to cancel your place at the event, please email familysupportdepartment@demelza.org.uk with your family details and the time and date of the event that you can no longer attend.

COVID-19 measures - keeping you safe

  • Limit on group size - Please ensure that you only bring with you the number of guests included on your event confirmation, as we will need to adhere to capacity limits within the hospice.
  • Families can choose to carry out a lateral flow test prior to the visit if they wish. Staff will not ask to see lateral flow test results, however, if any member of your family group is feeling unwell or anyone in the household has tested positive for COVID in the past 10 days, or suspects they may have COVID, please do not come to the hospice and email  familysupportdepartment@demelza.org.uk to confirm that you are no longer able to attend.

  • Upon arrival, all members of your group will have temperatures taken, and ask to verbally agree that you are all feeling well and no member of the household has covid or suspects that they may have covid. 
  • You will be provided with a new, medical-grade facemask.
  • Please note face coverings, cloth masks etc. are not permitted.

  • Facemasks must be worn by all those over the age of 11 years old when moving about the hospice buildings, (unless medically exempt).
  • Please follow instructions on handwashing and sanitising regularly, signs will be up around the hospice and in toilet facilities.
  • Demelza staff and volunteers wherever possible will maintain a social distance from your family; they will also keep their medical-grade face masks on whilst inside, throughout your visit.
  • Demelza staff carry out regular COVID testing and we support and encourage all our staff to access vaccines.
  • The event space and table set-up will allow for lots of ventilation and social distancing from other families.
  • Hand sanitiser will be available for staff and families during the event.
  • There will be regular cleaning and sanitation of all high traffic/high touch points during the event.
