Members of #TeamDemelza come in all shapes and sizes – and ages!

As everyone knows who gets involved with ‘the gang’ here at #TeamDemelza, it won’t be long before family, friends, neighbours – and anyone else you can think of – gets involved in lending a hand to this very worthwhile cause.

#TeamDemelza was thrilled to welcome one of its youngest supporters during the Easter holiday when 10-year old Fin Hubbard came in to record a very special visit for the Demelza children.

TV artist and entertainer Mr Maker has made a multitude of memories for Demelza children over the years. But on his last visit, it was Fin’s handywork which captured the memories on camera - forever.

Mr Maker, alias Phil Gallagher, has been entertaining pre-school children on CBeebies for the past 10 years, but regularly finds time to drop in to the Sittingbourne hospice and say ‘hello’ to Demelza’s children.

But when he faced the cameras this time, it wasn’t a BBC cameraman behind the lens but Fin, son of Demelza designer Stuart Hubbard, who recorded the video footage of the afternoon.

Making memories plays a large part in the lives of families who have children with a life-limiting illness and Mr Maker’s latest visit focussed on taking hand and footprints of the children on canvas mounts, which he then autographed.

Keen photographer Fin said: “I’m very grateful to Demelza for allowing me to video this exciting event. I enjoy doing photography at school and was happy I could use my photographic skills to make this lovely video."
