Matt Kepple is the founder and CEO of Makerble, a tech startup that enables charities to use their impact data to accelerate performance.
While studying for his Master's degree in Chemistry with Maths, French and Physics, Matt won Channel4's Creative Class Award for setting up his own volunteer-powered marketing agency which created a successful individual giving campaign for World Vision recruiting monthly student donors; and a marketing campaign for the Fairtrade Foundation which increased sales of fairtrade products at retailers on campus.
In 2007 Matt was recognised as one of the Top 100 Global Young Social Entrepreneurs. That same year he was appointed by The Cabinet Office to become one of the UK's Social Enterprise Ambassadors advising civil servants on policy. Matt later chaired The Commission for Youth Social Enterprise which was funded by The Department for Children, Schools and Families and The Cabinet Office.
Prior to founding Makerble, Matt worked in advertising, future trends and market research. Matt applied this in government where at The Central Office of Information he worked on strategy projects for The Department of Health and Cabinet Office; and subsequently within the charity sector where he led the turnaround of a failing education programme at one charity by redesigning the service to better meet the expectations of beneficiaries and managed several global marketing campaigns for a £30m turnover charity.
Every month Matt facilitates an innovation workshop bringing together mid-level managers and senior leaders with schools pupils to explore new business opportunities. Matt has given a TEDx Talk “Our Dreams Were Made For Sharing” at the University of Cambridge and has won awards from The Royal Society of Arts, Commerce and Manufacturing, Microsoft and Deloitte.
In his spare time Matt hosts shows for SofarSounds, the music startup that brings popup music gigs to people's homes in 400 cities around the world. He enjoys portrait photography and lives in South East London.
