Sibling enjoys football fun with Charlton Athletic's Johnnie Jackson

10 November 2018

Thanks to the generosity and kindness of Charlton Athletic Assistant Manager Johnnie Jackson one of our siblings recently enjoyed some half term football fun.

Six-year-old Leo was given a free place at the Johnnie Jackson Football Academy, after Johnnie heard all about Leo’s younger brother Noah, who has a rare genetic condition called H-ABC which progressively damages the nervous system. There are only 100 cases worldwide. Noah, aged two, also has dystonia which results in painful muscle spasms.

Demelza supports Noah and his family, including Leo, Mum Mags and Dad Dean, who live in Bexley. Johnnie Jackson is one of our supporters and a regular visitor to our children’s hospice in Eltham, South East London, where he heard the family story.

Mum Mags said: “Leo had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Both Johnnie and Mark Hughes were excellent in making him feel involved and they very kindly gave Leo the player if the week trophy.”
