An incredible £35,000 was raised for Demelza last weekend at a ball hosted by Demelza President Richard Oldfield, his wife Alicia, and Demelza supporters and sponsors, Paul and Patsy Barrett.
The sizzling summer weather added authentic atmosphere to the Indian themed ball, held at Donnington House on Saturday 17th June. Guests enjoyed an Indian feast followed by dancing and acrobatics from Guvinder Sandher and his group.
The evening featured a very successful auction, and included a prize from Googlebox’s Mary Killen to have lunch with her and husband, Giles Wood, at the Ritz in London.
Major Donor Manager Sarah Kemsley said: “We are very grateful to all those that supported the ball and everyone who generously donated to the auction. . Children’s hospices such as Demelza only exist because of charitable support. Fantastic donations like this really do make a difference to our children and families.”
