A seven-year-old boy raised over £400 in a duathlon organised by his dad.

Jack Santer, from Whitstable, cycled and ran 11.8k as part of the route which took in the Promenade in Herne Bay and Reculver.

It wasn’t part of an organised event, just a route his dad Trevor devised. Jack raised £440 for Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

Trevor said: "The reason we chose Demelza was to raise money for less fortunate children local to us and to try and make a difference. Jack realises how fortunate he is and now appreciates this more than ever after getting a taste for the fantastic work done by the charity."
