Being an apprentice at Demelza is "exciting and valuable."

17 March 2016
This week is National Apprenticeship Week and we have been seeing the benefits of apprentices since we launched our scheme in 2014.

Sophie LaHaye (pictured above) was our first apprentice, working in the HR team. It was such a success that Sophie went on to get a full-time job as an HR assistant at the end of the scheme.

She says:  “My time spent as a HR Apprentice at Demelza was really exciting and valuable. I have learnt so much and everyone has really helped me to develop my knowledge and skills. I was made to feel so welcome and fitted straight into #TeamDemelza ”

Following on from this success Leah Akhurst started as an apprentice in the lottery team.

Leah says:  “My apprenticeship at Demelza has given me the opportunity to enhance my skills and develop my confidence in the workplace.”

We hope to continue to offer apprenticeship placements in the future and offer the opportunity for individuals to grow and develop their skills in the workplace.

Director of People and Resources, Lavinia Jarrett said: “Demelza must grow our skills in all areas and Apprenticeships are a fantastic ways to achieve this.”
