Demelza 101ers get on their bikes

27 April 2016
One hundred riders. One cause. Months of training and fundraising are over and the Demelza 101 challenge is underway.

On a sunny but undeniably crisp morning, the hardy bunch of cyclists – long distance veterans and nervous first-timers both – gathered together at Demelza Kent in Sittingbourne, ready for the start of their 350-mile, four-day ride to Amsterdam.

CEO Ryan Campbell, speaking on behalf of all Demelza families, staff and volunteers, thanked everyone for their amazing dedication, and exhorted them to “ride like the wind!”.

Before setting off on the first day’s 70-mile leg to Dover, cheered on by Demelza and family supporters, some of the cyclists explained why they were taking on the challenge. See what they had to say in our video.

To keep up with the cyclists throughout the ride, follow them on Facebook.
