We will be moving our Maidstone Distribution Centre and Shopping Outlet from its current premises, following the end of our lease. Read on for further information surrounding donation point closure and store closing dates.

Why are we relocating the Maidstone Distribution Centre?

Our current lease for the Sandling Road site is coming to an end and will not be renewed as the area forms part of Maidstone Borough Council’s wider redevelopment plans for the town centre. We are currently working on a shortlist of new suitable locations to relocate to and will announce details of this new premises once confirmed. In the meantime, we are delighted to be opening our new shops in Earl Street, Maidstone and Orpington in 2024. Our last day of trading at the Maidstone Shopping Outlet will be Saturday 2 March 2024.

Will we also be closing the Maidstone Shopping Outlet?

Yes this will also be closing as the Maidstone Shopping Outlet forms part of the site that Maidstone Borough Council will be developing. Whilst we relocate, the nearest shops for donations and shopping in this area will be our shop in Maidstone’s Royal Star Arcade and a new store in Earl Street, Maidstone, scheduled to open in early 2024. Other shops within the vicinity include Rochester, Walderslade, Rainham and Hempstead Valley. You can find full details of all our shop locations here.

When does the Maidstone Distribution Centre and Shopping Outlet close?

The last day for donations to be made at the donation bay at the Maidstone Distribution Centre will be 5 February. Donations can also be made at our donation sheds at the Sittingbourne hospice up until Saturday 24 February when they will be closed to the public to allow our retail teams to manage stock for the relocation.

Following these dates, donations can be made at any of our shops, details of which can be found here. Please do give the relevant shop a call if you are able to check whether they can accept your most welcome donation. Some of our shops have limited storage facilities but volunteers or staff will be able to advise on how best to donate.

Where can I donate my unwanted goods?

You can continue to donate at any of our shops – please do give the shop a call if possible to check capacity to take your donation.
