On the 16th December, 2007, the Greenwich Teaching Primary Care Trust Music Therapy Team proudly presented Handel's Messiah, sung from scratch in aid of the Demelza Capital Appeal to build a new childrens' hospice in South London.
Members of the public paid to form the choir, rehearse and then put on a performance in the space of 3 hours .....no mean undertaking!
The talents of professional musicians were freely given to this event, with an orchestra comprising members of London's top orchestras, and soloists including the soprano, Ailish Tynan (Singer of the World, Cardiff 2003).
This concert was generously received and the money taken for Demelza reached the 2k mark.
