BBC Children in Need visit Eltham after grant

Children in NeedDemelza was delighted to welcome Henni Cardi and Lizzie Fee from BBC Children in Need to our hospice in Eltham, South East London on January 20.

BBC Children in Need have pledged a grant of £84, 980 for the next three years to pay for a salary and associated costs of a Family Support Worker.

Henni and Lizzie were taken on a tour of the facility in Wensley Close and met with Sue Gedge the Family Support Worker they funded, learning a bit more about what the job role involves.

James Hanaway, Demelza's Director of Fundraising said: 'We were delighted to be able to show Hennie and Lizzie around our new hospice, especially as it gave them a chance to see where BBC Children in Need's support is really put to work.

'The post of the Family Support Worker they funded, is of fantastic benefit to our children and families, as it provides much needed support, advice and practical help at a time it is most needed.

'We rely almost entirely on donations and fundraising to keep caring for children, so three year grants like this make a huge difference. A big thank you to everyone at BBC Children in Need for their support.'
