Could you be the first Pub Idol?

Pub goers are being given the chance to sing in their local for a chance to win a recording session with X Factor's Ben Mills and help raise money for Demelza.

Demelza Hospice Care for Children, along with brewer, Scottish and Newcastle UK, is launching Pub Idol in pubs and clubs across Kent, Sussex, and South East London.

The contest sees heats of karaoke competitions leading to semi finals at the end of November and a grand final on December 1.

The judges will include X Factor's Ben Mills and Fiona Collett of the Vince Power Music Group.

Demelza's area fundraising manager Vicki Pickering said: 'Demelza is delighted that the country's biggest brewer Scottish and Newcastle are getting behind Pub Idol and encouraging their customers to host an evening to help raise much needed funds for the charity.

'So if you have ever fancied yourself as a bit of a singer, grab a mic, get down to your local pub and sign up for Pub Idol. As well as being a fun event it is another way you can help support an invaluable local charity.'
