Open day at Sittingbourne attracts hundreds

The card stallBeepLaura and her collection potsAround 300 people attended the open day at Sittingbourne on Saturday (Sept 26).

Visitors were taken on tours as part of the event, there were jewellery, cards and cakes for sale as well as the chance to win a family ticket to Lapland UK in the raffle.

The lottery team were selling tickets for the Grand Summer Draw and the lucky winners were as follows:

R Whitley from Shoeburyness scooped the top prize of tickets for two on the Orient Pullman train.

J Wiles from SE London won £750 and D Griffin from Maidstone won a £500 holiday voucher.

The draw raised £19,500.

Tricia Gambell from the fundraising team said: 'Thank you to everyone who came along on a sunny Saturday to support Demelza.

'We were particularly pleased to welcome some new people who were unaware of the services we provide.

'We hold open days twice a year. They are a good opportunity for us to show our work with life limited and life threatened children and their families as well as raise vital funds to continue this work.'
