Breeze Yoga officially launched by Dancing on Ice star Jayne Torvill

Breeze, the Urban Yoga Company, was officially opened by Dancing on Ice star Jayne Torvill on th 16th September.

Breeze is a brand new, purpose-built yoga and pilates club and is the only facility in the UK to offer both hot and traditional yoga. Jayne Torvill, OBE and vice president of Demelza, Breeze's designated charity, presided at the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Breeze will host a series of fund-raising events over the coming months and will support the staff and families of Demelza, hospice care for children by providing yoga classes, treatments and meditation classes both at Breeze and at Demelza's London South-East hospice.

In her opening address Jayne said

'I am delighted to be here to open this exciting new venture in Beckenham and I am so happy that Breeze Yoga has chosen to support a charity so close to my heart. Demelza has been offering a lifeline for many families across the South East with a life limited child for over a decade now. The help and support that Demelza provides cannot be overstated'.

Breeze promises to be a much-needed alternative to the frenetic gym-style environment geared to high-energy fitness that often offers limited holistic style classes. Breeze has brought together a team of exceptional teachers who have undergone intensive and extensive training in the UK, India, Thailand, Hong Kong and Canada, all under one roof to provide an eclectic and inspirational mix of styles and disciplines.

Co-founder Claire Dunphy commenting on the launch said

'Breeze will be a much needed and important addition to the local community offering an immense range of life enhancing classes and activities to suit all regardless of age and gender. We are extremely excited about our Champions of Youth programme. The programme involves 10 inspirational local business people, who have individually achieved great things through hard work, guile and determination. These mentors will give talks in local schools and individually mentor youngsters aged from 10-18, leading by example to encourage and instill the concept of 'anything is possible'. Our business model is the epitome of corporate social responsibility.'
