About Gary

Gary Lineker OBE is a former professional footballer and sports broadcaster and has supported Demelza since 2005. Gary, who has four sons, opened the soft play area at the Kent hospice in Sittingbourne, alongside fellow supporter, Jayne Torvill, in 2005. In recent years, Gary has used his social media platforms to promote Demelza’s work, including sharing our Christmas campaigns in 2018 and 2020 and our Bereavement Suite campaign in 2019 on his Twitter feed, reaching over 7 million followers.
